Pearl Necklace

Originally uploaded by doodlebugfairy

I have been trying to find something to do with the pearls I found while out shopping for beads. I finally decided to try this wire wrapping design I found on http://www.wigjig.com/ . I think it came out well for my first try. I am going to make some earrings to go with it.

Garrnet Earrings and Bracelet

Garnet Earrings and Bracelet
Originally uploaded by doodlebugfairy

I went to a small bead shop in Homewood, AL and found my birthstone (garnet). I could not pass up buying these chips. I crocheted them on wire picking up one chip per stitch. This is how it came out. I have to make a clasp for the bracelet.

Resin Pendants

I have been trying different things with resin. This time I used dye and embedded items. I learned that when embedding pour a first layer and let it jell then and the items to be embedded then pour the last layer. This keeps the items from sinking to the bottom. I also learned that when using dye don't add to much. If you do the resin will not set (harden).

I have been wanting to try to make a few jewelry pieces using resin. I have been so busy that I just have not had time. I finally started today. This is my first attempt using resin. I want to see how it turns out. The next time I will post step by step.
