What I've Learned So Far Using PhotoShop CS3
Here are a few things I have learned to do using PhotoShop CS3.
The first two are very simple.
- You open the photo of your choice. This will be your background.
- Then you press Ctrl + J. This will make a copy of the background creating a new layer.
- Press Shift + Ctrl + U to change the color of your copy to black & white.
- Now select your eraser tool and erase the color you want to show up.
The PhotoShop Makeover was a little complicated but I learned how to give myself a nose job, add make-up, and get rid of my double chin. (Yes I do look like a rodeo clown) This one was fun. I used the following web sites to learn how to do this http://www.photoshopessentials.com/photo-editing/nose/ ; http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/university/tutorials/tutorials.shtml ; and http://www.brushes.obsidiandawn.com/index.htm for the brushes I used.
The last picture I played with clip art (sheep & butterfly), shapes (clouds), and brushes ( grass).
I am so amazed at all the possibilities you have using this software.
If you use Google to search for free PhotoShop tutorials you will find an abundance of information.

Sewing When Half Sleep
The moral of this story is don't sew when you've had less than 4 hours of sleep.

Confessions of a Fabric Junkie
Oneday I walked into a local fabric store to pick fabric for curtains I was making (with iron on tape) and saw a hiring sign. I applied and got the job. When someone would bring their fabric to my cutting table I would always ask what they were making. It blew my mind what some of these people where making and how much fun they seemed to be having. So I decided to purchase a sewing machine, nothing fancy. The first thing I made were throw pillows. I was hooked. I became a fabric junkie and sewing addict.
I have always loved to create things but when I learned to sew, it took me to another level. I started purchasing fabric I needed, I didn't need, thought I needed, and everything in between.
